World Menopause Day - 18th October 2023

In light of World Menopause Day on the 18th October 2023, Guinot and Environ have developed a focus around the topic of Menopause. With the aim to break the taboo subject and to spark conversations around the changes our skin experiences throughout Menopause.

During menopause, the skin is subject to hormonal disturbances. Between the ages of 45 and 55, oestrogen levels decrease, resulting in a complete modification of skin structure.

Collagen levels decrease dangerously in both quantity and quality, causing the skin to lose firmness and wrinkles to set in. Less hydrated, the skin becomes drier and thinner; deprived of its natural protection, it feels uncomfortable and sensitive.

Cell renewal becomes more difficult, and skin deprived of oxygen becomes dull.

We can’t prevent the menopause, but we can help improve our skin.
