CryoPen® Skin Lesion Removal
CryoPen® Skin Lesion Removal at Beauty at 28
Unwanted skin tags, warts, verrucae and other benign skin lesions can now be removed quickly and precisely at Beauty at 28 with Dr Nic, using the advanced CryoPen® Cryosurgery system.
CryoPen® offers a safe, accurate and minimally uncomfortable solution for lesions that are not eligible for removal through your GP or the NHS. Treatment is fast, targeted and suitable for delicate areas, helping you achieve smoother, clearer skin with confidence.
What CryoPen® Can Treat
CryoPen® is effective for removing a wide range of benign skin lesions, including:
· Skin Tags - Soft, small growths often found on the neck, armpits and eyelids.
· Seborrheic Keratosis - Waxy, wart-like lesions on the face, chest or back.
· Actinic Keratosis - Rough, sun-damaged patches of skin.
· Small Cysts - Fluid-filled sacs beneath the skin.
· Common Warts - Typically found on hands and knees.
· Plantar Warts (Verrucae) - Located on the soles of the feet.
How CryoPen® Works
CryoPen® delivers a highly controlled jet of nitrous oxide (N2O) directly onto the lesion. This freezes and destroys the targeted tissue while protecting the surrounding healthy skin.
Because of its precision, CryoPen® can safely treat:
· Small lesions
· Delicate areas (including around the eyes)
· Intimate regions
· Thick or stubborn warts and verrucae
As a non-surgical procedure, CryoPen® offers:
· No cutting or stitches
· Minimal discomfort
· Low risk of scarring
· Quick treatment time
· Minimal downtime
Your Initial Appointment with Dr Nic
During your visit:
· Dr Nic will assess your lesion(s) and confirm suitability for treatment.
· Up to three lesions can usually be treated in one session.
· Treatment involves short freezing cycles, creating a brief cold or stinging sensation that settles quickly.
· Multiple sessions may be required depending on lesion size and depth.
Aftercare
Following treatment, the area will heal naturally. You may experience temporary redness, swelling or scabbing.
Do’s & Don’ts
· Keep the area clean and dry
· Avoid picking or scratching
· Use SPF if recommended
· Avoid exfoliating or acidic skincare until healed
Healing time varies:
· Small lesions: 7-14 days
· Larger lesions: 3-4 weeks
· Full skin regeneration: 4-6 weeks
Preparing for Warts & Verrucae
To improve treatment success:
· Soak the lesion in warm, soapy water for 20 minutes
· Gently exfoliate with a pumice stone or emery board
· Stop immediately if any bleeding occurs
This helps CryoPen® penetrate deeper and increases the likelihood of successful removal.
CryoPen® vs Electrolysis
Both methods remove benign lesions, but CryoPen® is typically:
· More comfortable
· Faster
· Less invasive
· Requiring fewer appointments
Electrolysis uses heat and a fine needle, which can be more uncomfortable for some clients.
